" Whoever you are, no matter how lonely, the world offers itself to your imagination, calls to you like the wild geese,

harsh and exciting - over and over announcing your place in the family of things."

~ Mary Oliver

For some the holiday season can be a time to reconnect with family and celebrate. For others this can be a time of missing those who are no longer present or missing the connection with family that others enjoy. This online workshop offers an opportunity to come together and explore a wider sense of family where we can feel loved and supported in new and powerful ways. Through a combination of teaching, guided exercises, and sharing together (optional) we will find connection, joy, and belonging despite the family challenges we may face.

Together we will explore the wider sense of family that is available for us to come home to at any time; whether that is with the different parts of ourselves, our deep time family/our ancestors, and/or our non-human relatives within the natural world that we are all a part of. When we feel heard, understood, and welcomed in community we find a powerful pathway toward enlarging our sense of wisdom and compassion for ourselves and each other, for grieving our losses, celebrating what we hold dear, and for receiving support from unexpected places.

Many traditional cultures throughout the ages have understood the alchemical power of coming together in community to acknowledge and mark the different times of the year and their symbolic meaning. In these modern times with all the changes we face socially, culturally and personally and a melting pot of beliefs and traditions, we need to seek deeper connection with each other more than ever. Together we will rekindle what has been lost in new and creative ways, discover a deeper sense of belonging, and strengthen our innate capacity for vitality and joy.

“Because true belonging only happens when we present our authentic, imperfect selves to the world,

our sense of belonging can never be greater than our level of self-acceptance.”

~ Brené Brown

Lara Lwin Treadaway has been supporting individuals, communities and groups for more than twenty years, facilitating experiences of healing, connection, and belonging. She utilizes teaching, group practices, guided meditations, cross-cultural ritual, nature connection, poetry, song, and storytelling to restore and cultivate beloved community. Lara believes that sacred grief work, ancestral reconnection, earth honoring practices, and the creative arts are pathways to restoring deep belonging within ourselves, between each other, and with the natural world. She has spent the last decade cultivating a simple, land-based life and feels blessed to be able to care for a small herd of rescued equines while tending the land, growing food, and making medicine from plants and herbs in a circle of sacred reciprocity.
