Working with the principles and practices of Nonviolent Communication and other group processes we will explore ways to connect with each other around our shared concerns for the environmental threats that face our world. By hearing each others’ hearts and finding places of mutual understanding we will work together to weave a strong network of community resilience and support.

An evening benefit to celebrate and support Grandma Agnes Baker Pilgrim, the oldest and a founding member of the International Council of Thirteen Indigenous Grandmothers. This evening of sacred music, community, and prayer is an opportunity to celebrate one of Oregon’s most cherished elders who continues to bring a light to the world in these difficult times. Organized by Lara Lwin Treadaway, this event is being offered on donation with all proceeds going to support Grandma and her work to protect the water.

This event is being organized by Lara Lwin Treadaway in response to the call from Chief Arvol Looking Horse, 19th Generation Keeper of the Sacred White Buffalo Calf Pipe, for people of all faiths to come together in an Interfaith Day of Prayer in support of the movement at Standing Rock. Native speaker Dan Wahpepah will lead the ceremony. Other local faith representatives speaking on the day include; Rabbi David Zaslow, Rev. Norma Nakai Burton, and Abdiaziz Guled.
