"Love sorrow. She is yours now, and you must take care of what has been given."

~ Mary Oliver

We are all carrying grief, whether from a personal loss, difficult life transition, or from the societal dysfunction and ecological devastation in our beautiful and troubled world. This online grief support circle offers a healing space to share the losses and sorrows we have been carrying and find trust, warmth, and belonging in community. Together we will engage simple practices and rituals to ground in gratitude, deepen presence, and bring beauty and reverence to our experience. We will draw on poetry to inspire and nourish our hearts, and share resources for support. The intention of this circle is to create a sacred and alchemical container to honor and metabolize our grief and find healing, strength, and renewal.

Gently facilitated with the aim of creating a safe and inclusive space, these circles may include meditations and other activities to support trust, grounding, and connection. Turning toward our own grief with tenderness and holding a loving and attentive space for others, cultivates compassion, builds strength, allows new insights to emerge, and restores vitality. There is no obligation to share. Participants are welcome to simply be present and just feel held in the circle if they wish. Some guidelines to support the safety of the group and a few suggestions on how to prepare for the circle will be sent on registration. Please note that this online gathering is conducted in audio to minimize distractions and offer privacy and ease.

FACILITATOR

Lara Lwin Treadaway weaves group ritual, earth-based ceremony, poetry, music, song, storytelling, and ways of council to guide and support healing and transformation in community. She believes that sacred grief work, ancestral healing, earth reconnection, and the creative arts are pathways to restoring deep belonging within ourselves, between each other, and with the other-than-human world. Lara's personal story includes many rough initiations through grief, loss, and trauma, leading to a hard-won respect for the alchemical journey of transmuting pain into medicine for the world.

This Online Healing Circle is for those who are:

  • Needing support through a loss, crisis, or difficult life transition

  • Working through blocks, crises, or obstacles in their life or relationship

  • Looking for a safe and sacred container to share with others in community

  • Wanting to cultivate a deeper relationship with sacred grief and live more fully

  • Feeling outrage, despair, numbness, or hopeless about what is happening in our world

  • Activists needing release and renewal to restore vitality and build resilience in their activism

“We see that in life it is necessary to grieve those things that no longer serve us and let them go. We experience conflicts, loved

ones die or suffer, dreams never manifest, illnesses occur, relationships break up, and there are unexpected natural

disasters. It is so important to have ways to release those pains to keep clearing ourselves. Hanging on to old

pain just makes it grow until it smothers our creativity, our joy, and our ability to connect with others.”

~ Sobonfu Somé, author of The Spirit of Intimacy
