About The Event
We are all carrying grief, whether through conflicted relationships, lost dreams, financial stresses, illness, the passing of loved ones, news of ecological devastation and social injustice, or loss of meaning. By gathering in ritual space to taste the sacred medicine of grief we will find our hearts and souls restored to a deep sense of vitality and gratitude, and discover the wisdom and joy that can be found in shared mourning, remembrance, beauty, and celebration.
This gathering is inspired by the work of grief ritualist and traditional elder Sobonfu Somé, and draws from the teachings of Joanna Macy, Francis Weller, and Michael Meade. Through cross-cultural ritual, drumming, song, poetry, alchemical empathy, and open space for grieving, we will gather together in a transformative circle of village-building and soul-making, to reconnect with what can bring rich meaning during these turbulent times.
